Step 1:

Install Crimson 3.2

  • Either download the program online or execute the .msi or .exe file included
  • You may need to reboot unless you’re running the latest Windows 11 (and even then, you may have to)

Step 2:

Open the Program

  • Click the File menu and click Open…
  • Find the program provided (should be FILENAME.cd32) and click Open

Step 3:

Connect to the Device

  • Generally, with a brand new device, the best bet is to connect a USB printer cable directly to the device and your laptop, with the type A side connected to your computer.
    • Printer cables have a USB type A (standard old style rectangle) and a USB type B (roughly D shaped and boxy)
  • Open Crimson 3.2 and click the Link menu on top and select Options…
  • When the Link Options popup opens, select USB and click OK

Step 4:

Download to the Device

  • Click the Link menu and select Send…
  • Crimson may ask if it is ok to update the firmware, go ahead and click OK
  • If the device asks for a password, you can use:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: password
